Following its massive fire in July 2013, the shantytown located off Joe Farrington Road remains a thriving community. Minister of Environment and Housing Ken Dorsett warned the remaining owners to move out of the homes because of its environmental and health issues. If the owners don't take heed to Dorsett's instructions, the next action taken will be legal actions.

Minister of the Environment and Housing, Kenred Dorsett announced that a poisonous species of toad which can grow up to 10 inches in length, is breeding in New Providence. According to Dorsett, all stages of the toad's life cycle (including eggs, tadpoles and adults) are poisonous. In the picture shown, Former Bahamas National Trust President and herpetologist Susan Buckner displays the invasive cane toad at a recent press conference.

In Washington, federal data show that middle and high school students who use e-cigarettes doubled in 2012 from the previous year. The rise is prompting concerns among health officials that the new devices could be creating as many health problems as they are solving. E-cigarettes are battery-powered devices that deliver nicotine that is vaporized to form an aerosol mist. Producers promote them as a healthy alternative to smoking, but researchers say their health effects are not yet clear, though most acknowledge that they are less harmful than traditional cigarettes.

Quentin Wyche, Ex-Florida International University student, never shied away from admitting he fatally stabbed an unarmed school football player during a confrontation on campus in March 2010. However the question, for jurors, was whether he was justified in using deadly force. After an hour deliberation Wyche was found guilty for the second degree murder of Kendall Berry.

Today marked a break from tradition for Apple – it unveiled not one, but two new iPhones, including the vibrantly colorful iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S. The new models of iPhone are expected to generate more profit not only because of its customer friendly price but because of its new features such as colorful wallpaper, fingerprint security code feature, faster speed and extended battery life.
